Review of “Two Across” by Jeffrey Bartsch

Vera meets Stanley when they tie for the National Spelling Bee in the early 60s. They keep in touch over the years, and when Stanley asks Vera to marry him, as a ruse, so he can write crossword puzzles, she agrees. Things come to a screeching halt when Vera realizes she is in love with Stanley, but feels as though he doesn’t reciprocate. Lovely coming of age story that helps to remind one that you don’t always know what you have til its gone.
