Celebrate an American tradition with Wild West Day at Old Firehouse Books on Friday,August 21st from 10am to noon. Join us in welcoming western artist and historical reenactor James Rollin Robinson of Black Thunder Creek Historical Productions. This educational andfree event is for all ages and will offer games, crafts, stories and songs.
James and his wife Wendy will speak about life in Colorado and the rest of the American West in the late 1800s. They will wear reproduction clothing from the time period and bring props and artefacts from the era for a unique hands-on experience. James will speak about western art and its impact on history, along with his own work as an artist. Wendy will talk about life as a woman in the Wild West and some of the iconic women of the era. The day will include other hands-on activities such as an art lesson, western songs and stories, and craft projects.
