Adulting with Books

I’m almost 25, and like other millennials just out of college and trying to figure out their lives, I’m having something resembling a quarter-life crisis.

So, as a bookseller, I am turning to books to survive and it does help. So here are the books I have clung to to get through the bumps of adulting.

Big Magic by Liz Gilbert

A reminder to be bold enough to not hold myself back on all the things I want to do. A reminder to know to keep going. A reminder to try all the things and enjoy them for all they are!

How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

Life is up and down and crazy and sad and wonderful and absurd and it is. And it’s okay to laugh and change, and even cry in baseball.

A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki

This book will change how you see and feel everything. Take my word for it. You need to read it. Love it. Experience it.

Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh

Because even if we have depression, bad events, too much stress, and general anxiety that the world is falling apart. Laughter can be the best and most needed medicine for us all!

Good luck adulting!
