Review: Language Barrier by Hannah K. Lee

With a combination of stand alone illustrations and re-creations of zines by Lee, this collection is a bizarre and striking look at femaleness, self-doubt, and society. Her images, patterns, and text create such a well-curated and satisfying through-line of color, pattern, and thought that it’s quite easy to blow through this whole book in several minutes. Despite this, it’s a book that you’ll re-visit again and again for the striking images and the clever one-liners.
