Find Waldo Digitally!

Hello readers!

We have a special announcement for anyone who enjoys a bit of Waldo Seeking in July…

While we know the best part of summer is hunting down this striped trickster in our store and our neighbors, Waldo is stuck inside, just like the rest of us. He’s spending the summer safely socially distanced…which means he won’t be hiding in the usual Old Town spots.

But! (there’s always a but, isn’t there?)

Waldo is joining us online! He’ll be digitally browsing just like you and making pop up appearances at the store for limited browsing. What does this mean? It’s means Find Waldo Digitally, of course!

Find Waldo Digitally will take place over the course of July AND August this year–that’s an extra month of Waldo-spotting!

We will be posting pictures on our Facebook and Instagram 2-3 times a week of Waldo when he drops by the store, in different places on our shelves and with different book covers. It will be participants’ job to identify the book or the section where Waldo is hiding.

We will be posting 12 hidden Waldos each month. At the end of each month, Waldo Seekers with submit their guesses via Google Form. And of course there will be fun prizes for those who find Waldo!

Each month, the first 25 Seekers to submit their guesses with 10 correct answers will receive an “I Found Waldo” button and a coupon for $1 off any new book in the store. The first 3 Seekers to submit their guesses with all 12 correct answers will receive a $5 gift card to Old Firehouse Books and will get to pick a free book (picture book to teen).

The first Waldo Seeker to submit their guesses with all correct answers will win a $25 gift card to Old Firehouse Books.

We hope you’ll join in the fun this summer! Check out the Waldo webpage for more information.

Good luck and happy reading!
